成人高等教育学士学位英语水平考试（简称成人三级统一考试）是成人高等教育本科（非英语专业）学生获得学士学位的必要条件之一，其重要性不言而喻。我国自实施学士学位英语考试以来，考生人数逐年递增，尤其是在取消社会考生参加英语四、六级考试后，其增长速度更是一鸣惊人。但是根据*有关部门统计，成人学士学位英语考试的通过率极低，只有10%~15%，致使许多考生因为英语而拿不到学位证。造成考生英语学位考试失败的原因主要有以下三方面：

（1）考生多为上班族，平时主要忙于工作，没有足够的复习时间；

（2）成考学生的英语基础普遍较差，而学位英语考试确实有难度；

2013年，*颁布了新的《成人高等教育本科生学士学位英语水平考试大纲》（以下简称新《大纲》），为了满足广大参加学位英语考试考生对新的考试题型的需求，未来教育教学与研究中心组织了学士学位英语考试命题研究中心的老师和全国部分高校的一线专业教师，根据新《大纲》精心打造一系列完整的成人学士学位英语辅导用书——成人学士学位英语蓝宝书，其包括《词汇》、《一本通》、《历年真题详解》和《模拟试卷》共四本。全方位解读学士学位英语考试，分析重点、解析难点、精选真题、精编模拟，以助考生顺利通关。

Part I Dialogue Completion (10 points)

Directions : In this part，there are 3 dialogues with 3 or 4 blanks，each followed by 4 choices marked A, B, C and D. Fill in each blank with the choice that best suits the situation until the dialogue is complete. With Dialogue One, all the choices will have to be used. With Dialogue Two and Dialogue Three，one choice will be left unused. Mark your answer on the ANSWER SHEET with a single bar through the centre of the letter that indicates your choice.

Dialogue One

Roger: So, how is your new roommate?

Part II Reading Comprehension (40 points)

Directions: There are 4 passages in this part. Each of the passages is followed by 5 questions or unfin-ished statements. For each of them there are 4 choices marked A，B，C and D. Choose the best one and mark your answer on the ANSWER SHEET with a single line through the centre.

Passage 1

Long bus rides are like television shows. They have a beginning, a middle, and an end—with commercials thrown in every three or four minutes. The commercials are unavoidable. They happen whether you want them or not. Every couple of minutes a billboard glides by outside the bus win¬dow. “Buy Super Clean Toothpaste.” “Drink Root Beer. ” “Fill up with Pacific Gas. ” Only if you sleep, which is equal to turning the television set off, are you spared the unending cry of “You Need It! Buy It Now ! ”

The beginning of the ride is comfortable and somewhat exciting, even if you’ve traveled that way before. Usually some things have changed—new houses, new buildings, sometimes even a new road. The bus driver has a style of driving and it’s fun to try to figure it out the first hour or so. If the driver is particularly reckless or daring, the ride can be as thrilling as a suspense story. Will the driver pass the truck in time? Will the driver move into the right or the left-hand lane? Af¬ter a while, of course, the excitement dies down. Sleeping for a while helps pass the middle hours of the ride. Food always makes bus rides more interesting. But you’ve got to be careful of what kind of food you eat. Too much salty food can make you very thirsty between stops.

The end of the ride is somewhat like the beginning. You know it will soon be over and there’s a kind of expectation and excitement in that. The seat, of course, has become harder as the hours have passed.
